Our Wine Glasses and Glassware for WineAll our Wine Glasses, Glassware for wine and our Wine Glass Matching Decor Accessories are made at the Cristiro factory in Transylvania, Romania. The artists and artisans who craft such beautiful products combine hundreds of years of experience and dedication to ensure that only the finest glassware is produced for your total wine experience. We group our Glassware into COLLECTIONS. Each collection has it's own special characteristics to add to your individual Wine Experience. The Glassmaking ProcessEach Wine Glass and Wine Glass matching Decor Accessory is a piece of art created by a true artisan. GLASS BLOWING is the art of creating an object from molten glass by blowing air into it utilizing a tube. The ARTISAN collects molten glass from a special oven onto the tip of his blow rod, being careful to accumulate just the right amount for the piece to be blown. The glass in the oven takes days to melt (the oven is never turned off). Each piece of glassware is then blown to the proper thickness and shape and, depending on the collection, other glass elements are added. When the glass is just right it is allowed to cool. After the glass is cooled, other craftsmen engrave and paint the vivid colors of the collections pattern using different colored lustre and 24k gold. One last firing ensures the color will last a long, long time. The Afterglow CollectionA tribute to clean, colorless crystal, The Afterglow Collection features an elegant etched pattern. After the glass form is created from molten glass by an artisan, it is then allowed to cool. The matte finish at the bottom of each piece is then created when the glass is dipped into an acidic substance causing the glass to be "frosted" yet smooth. Each individual piece then goes on to etching stations where craftsmen etch the lined pattern into the glass. The engraved swirl into the bowl brings out a very modern look. The Arctic Frost CollectionThe stemware of this fine collection features an unusual stem. The bowl sits on an unpolished, heavier cone shaped base, edged in a honeycomb pattern. The Arctic Frost Collection is left unpolished, creating a "frosted" look. The base of each piece bears a permanent resemblance to regular glasses that have been placed "to frost" in the freezer. The bowl is very clear and smooth. The tumblers are edged in the frosted honeycomb of the stems. The Arctic CollectionThe stemware in this unique collection features an unusual stem. The bowl sits on a pllished, heavier cone shaped base, edged in a honeycomb pattern. The bowl isvery clear and smooth. This collection is similar to the Artic Frost Collection except that wrere th 'Arctic' is polished the 'Frost' is not. The Bacchus CollectionAfter the glass blowing artisan has shaped the molten glass, the glass is cooled. It is then sent onto etching stations where the grape pattern is cut by hand into the glass. Different craftsmen cut the different pieces of the etching: one person etches the grapes, another the vine, and yet another the leaves. When the glass etching is complete, the glass is polished and sent to the painting station. Here the etchings are painted by hand, using natural luster and real gold. Once the piece is in its final shape, it is fired one more time to ensure long-lasting strength, durability and color. The Cathy CollectionThis Collection is a clear lead free optic glass, a decorating technique that yields ripples in the glass, presenting a simple yet elegant look. The stems of these glasses are a little thicker, a feature that makes them feel good and more solid. The Dionysus CollectionIn The Dionysus Collection each glass in this collection displays a different type of wine, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, White Zinfandel, Red Zinfandel and Merlot, while the carafe brings all the different wines together. The Georgio CollectionThe Georgio Collection is also made of colorless lead free crystal that has a high refractive index and consequantly is particularly brilliant. The Georgio Collection however has a very strong stem made from amber colored glass. This collection features a classic grape design hand etched and hand painted with gold accents. The Milano CollectionThe Milano Collection provokes the mind and stimulates the eyes with its unpredictable swirl design, and "stained glass" like finish. To apply the intricate cobalt glass pattern, one craftsman rotates the blob of glass on its axis while another dabs a rod into molten cobalt and spins a thin strand of the material onto the lower portion of the piece. The piece is then blown to the proper thickness and shape by mouth. After it is cooled, another craftsman paints the vivid colors within the pattern using different colored luster and 24k gold. The piece is then fired one more time to ensure that the color will last a long, long time. This creative process is time consuming and very demanding. All this to produce a unique work of art for you wine pleasure. The Orleans CollectionThe Orleans Collection is the most vibrant collection we offer. The collection is hand-painted with blue, green and red paint which is fired into the glass. The Roxi CollectionA perfectly Modernistic design, The Roxi Collection's cubic motif was created by the artist Roxana Maria Cebanu. Each piece is created individually by hand from lead free crystal. After the glass form is created by the artisan and allowed to cool, it then goes on to etching stations. Here the glass' design is etched into the vessel by a craftsman. In addition, each piece is also personalized with the artist's signature to ensure authenticity. The Tears & Cheers CollectionThis Unique Collection features a colored bubble that is elongated throughout the stem. It is featured in two colors : blue and red. Three glasses are available in each of these colors : Red Wine, White Wine and Martini. The Sade Collection
